Challenge

A global financial services group sought to strengthen its delivery capacity for strategic and regulatory change by building an internal consultancy capability, reducing reliance on external advisors and creating a coordinated, group-wide approach to professional services sourcing and programme delivery.

Standing up an internal consultancy at scale required mobilising talent, defining the operating model, and aligning governance and commercial frameworks across business lines, while simultaneously resourcing and leading a specialist team to deliver a heavy slate of concurrent regulatory programmes under fixed deadlines.

Approach

Contributed to the build-up of the internal consultancy practice and the group-wide professional services buying function, and recruited and led a team of 35 consultants dedicated to regulatory programmes. Coordinated delivery across multiple regulatory workstreams, aligned stakeholders across functions, and maintained governance and reporting to senior leadership throughout.

Outcome

A scaled internal consultancy capability and a specialist regulatory delivery team in place, giving the group durable capacity for strategic and regulatory change with stronger sourcing discipline and programme control.
